Welcome And Winter Frustration

SPEAKER_07

Welcome to another edition of the Motorcycle Mayhem Radio Podcast, hosted by Johnny Rizto, where we talk about everything motorcycle, from tips on safe riding, to apparel and accessories, to where the next events are, and everything in between. So, let's mount up and ride. Hey Johnny, where are we going this time?

SPEAKER_04

What's up, everybody? What's up, Long Island? What's up, Iris Pat?

SPEAKER_02

Hey, Johnny, what's going on?

SPEAKER_04

How are you doing, brother?

SPEAKER_02

Doing okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah? Rough weather about there. I I know I got up this morning. They never end your winter. No, and this one, this is a winter that doesn't want to go away. This winter does not want to go away. It wants to stay cold and windy and disgusting. You know, I'm so sick of this winter. You know, I'm ready to do this. Call quits with the winter, man. That's it. No more winter. Let's just uh get the summer going, and that's that.

SPEAKER_02

We're like in the middle of April. It's like it's already like it's already been like four or five weeks.

SPEAKER_04

Did the groundhog see his face or whatever it is, a shadow?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe he came back. Maybe he came back out. It's like, nope.

SPEAKER_04

How does that work? He sees a shadow, he don't see his shadow.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know how that looks like if we're first off, he's gonna decide a rodent's gonna determine your weather.

SPEAKER_04

You're already the rodent is telling you that we got six more weeks in winter. And he wasn't kidding. No, he wasn't joking around this time.

SPEAKER_02

No, he really wasn't.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

But anyway, rodent's gonna be nuggets. They are gonna be nuggets, man. Make his ass nuggets.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was it could have been busier. Yeah. You know, like I said, I I took it easy on Saturday because I knew that I was gonna be doing the uh tent on Sunday. Oh, yeah. Because we were gonna be at the blessing of the bikes. Right. And we got there. And it was just it was just lousy weather.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know what? I'm gonna tell you, I lay in, I was laying in bed. Uh I'm gonna be honest with you. I was laying in bed until about four o'clock in the afternoon, and we got these skylights in the bedroom, right?

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_04

And we can see you're laying in bed, you can see the trees, you can see the sky, you know. And it was bad out. I'm saying this is a bad day. I go, you know, because there was a couple things going on. There was the blessing of the bikes, yes, and then Baca had their event over at the uh the tattoo place.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's this upcoming weekend. Oh, it is this weekend. It is this weekend, yes.

SPEAKER_04

So I made a mistake.

SPEAKER_02

There's a shocker.

SPEAKER_04

I thought it was last weekend. Okay. All right. Thank you for that call, Pat.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for that call.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, their event is at Wild Child Tattoo. It's on the 25th and 26th.

SPEAKER_04

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

So they got two days.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So, oh, so you got a two-day event going on.

SPEAKER_02

They got a two-day event going on, yes, from 12 to 5.

SPEAKER_04

See, this is why Pat Irish Pat's on the show. Because Iris Pat knows what's going on in the Motorcycle World, unlike moi. Okay?

SPEAKER_02

He knows he knows skylights.

SPEAKER_04

Skylights. I know skylights. I was sleeping, I'll tell you. So anyway, so I'm looking out the skylights, and then I look on Facebook and I see you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And you're set up out there. I'm like, oh my God. I saw like 15 bikes. Now, this is an event, guys. This is an event that usually has a couple of thousand bikes. Am I wrong?

SPEAKER_02

Uh no, somebody had sat there and had like, well, you know, you know on Facebook how it says on this day, such and such, and goes back. Right. It went back. I saw somebody back from like 21, and the weather was like perfect, 80 degrees. It was like an 80-degree day. Right. And you saw easily like four or five rows of bikes coming from the entrance all the way to the back. It was uh it was just so impressive. And it's not even like it was yesterday. It's not the last two years running this is it where the weather's in.

SPEAKER_04

Right, right. It's not like they don't have a um rain date, right? They don't do that.

SPEAKER_02

No, there is no rain date. So did you do the ride or no? I didn't do the ride. I did a uh I I did the tent. Okay. And then we went and once the uh ride commenced, uh we just we packed up and went.

SPEAKER_04

And where'd you go? You went out to the uh I just went home. Oh, you went home? Yeah, I went home. I went to the Applebee's home. Personally, me.

SPEAKER_02

While I'm here, I might as well, right? Yeah, exactly. I might as well go to Applebee's, you know.

SPEAKER_04

But no, I saw that one and I was like, there's no way I'm going anywhere today. I thought I had that at an event, but I'm honestly wrong with that. Yeah. So um it looked it looked bad. And it's sad because you know what? That's a huge event. It's a great ride out to the shrine. It really is. The priest out there blessed all the bikes, which is awesome.

SPEAKER_02

I remember the one time I did it, he blessed my bike and started to sizzle a little bit. Really? Yeah, I think so. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

The Irish Pat music.

SPEAKER_02

You know, never mind. No, I don't know if it was that or because it was a Kawasaki. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

It could have been sizzle. I'm thinking it's a little bit of a mix of both.

SPEAKER_02

It probably was.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, your music's horrible, man. You just need to expand your. Do you like Ranstein? Ranstein's good. See that? That's right there. All right. Because they're not good. Well, that's the only thing they got good is their shows.

SPEAKER_02

Their concert shows are amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Their concerts with the fire, yeah, that's amazing stuff.

SPEAKER_02

But they put on great shows.

SPEAKER_04

I'm just stuck in the 80s, man. That's that's my thing. Stuck in the 80s. I tell you. You know what I mean? But um, so so you went to the event and we went to the event. And it was a bad day. She had about what, 15 bikes, a lot of how about experience for everybody? Everybody uh in a good mood.

SPEAKER_02

But for the most part, everybody made made a good mood. The people who were there made the best out of it, honestly. Because they just knew, you know, everybody knew there was nothing they could do about it. Right. Um, a bait personally, we did pretty well. We had like I think it was like three renewals and one and uh one new. Yeah, so overall for us, we did okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well you say renewal, I mean somebody was already part of it.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, somebody renewed. Somebody was a part of it, they let it lapse, and then it's like since they're already there, all we gotta do is we look up their name. Oh, there you go. You just have to renew.

SPEAKER_04

That's it.

SPEAKER_02

So that's it.

SPEAKER_04

You'll probably see my name in there somewhere.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, do to be renewed? Guaranteed.

SPEAKER_04

Guaranteed to be renewed. But you know, I don't know how renew it. Guess when?

SPEAKER_02

Dawn.

SPEAKER_04

The Christmas party. I totally renewed. I walk in. Are you on the list? I am now. The long island debate's great, man. You guys do a great job, though.

SPEAKER_02

But you guys just said that.

SPEAKER_04

It was our first event of the year, so it's the first, it's the first official blessing of the year.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Uh and the the riders of fire do it, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, they do.

SPEAKER_04

And a lot of clubs get involved. It's a big, big event. And uh, you know, I I always enjoyed going to that one. I think last year, if I remember correctly, was that the same event when Dawn had the Boogie for the Boobies two years ago? Maybe not. Maybe I'm just I don't know. Maybe it was. I thought it was the same day that they had the event we had the boogie for the boobies.

SPEAKER_02

No, because theirs was earlier. Last year was it earlier in the earlier in the month. It was like the first, I think the first last Saturday in March, last Sunday in March or something. It was early last year. I remember that. Yeah, two years ago.

SPEAKER_04

And then maybe and then Yeah, it was two years ago. Because we had the event at 89 North. Yeah. And I remember a lot of people from that event came after they get they got their bike, but they came over to us.

SPEAKER_02

Well that worked out because booking for the movies usually is in the it starts in the afternoon anyway. So people do that event, they do that event, they line up, you know, they sign up, everybody does the ride, and then basically from the shrine, then it's good just a decent ride to patch off. Well, exactly, man. So it's it's definitely a big day. You know, 24 hours, yeah. So you're doing basic all like 12 hours, not 24, but I was gonna say 24 hours of biking. But but 12 hours, you know, 12 hours of uh motorcycle community, which is always good.

Favorite Food Stops And Sponsors

SPEAKER_04

Uh uh hold on, I was getting informed that uh I don't have my burger coming today. I'm getting a different kind of burger. All right, well, whatever. I'm okay with it. Whatever kind of burger you have for me, I will eat it. Speaking of which, Fatboys Burrito Pat.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we love Fat Bad.

SPEAKER_04

Fat Boys Burrito is an amazing place.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it is.

SPEAKER_04

Amazing locations. They're in East Northport, Patrol again, Belmore. It's a fourth location. I don't think it's out yet, though. But they also have a food truck. They set it up out in the Islander games over there at the uh UBS. So check them out. Fat Boys Burrito, go to fatboysburrito.com, check out their menu. They got catering. How about the tacos?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, the tacos are great.

SPEAKER_04

You get the empanadas every week? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I love those empanadas.

SPEAKER_04

Those empanadas are amazing. All their food's great. Check out Fat Boys.

SPEAKER_02

Those things are huge, too.

SPEAKER_04

How about the breakfast burrito? Oh football, guys. It's a football. It's a football. The breakfast burrito. So remember, check out Fat Boys Burrito. Don't forget, they're amazing. And uh what else? Oh, so I'm thinking about this event, and what sucks is that you know, you prepare for something like this all year. All year long, and then the day comes and it's raining. And not just a drizzle, it was a bad rain.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And and be being part of the long on the bait, which you are, you really can't promote riding in the rain. Because you're about safety.

SPEAKER_02

It's about safety. I mean, you get I mean, we've all gotten stuck in the rain. So it's a matter of so it's still a skill that you have to learn. You know, and it's just a mat you know, just about either just gotta slow it down to you know, slow it down a little bit more, take it easy a little bit more on the break when you hit it. There you go.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know, a lot a lot of you know training you're gonna be doing doing that. So hey guys, stay right there. I am Johnny Rizio. I am with Irish Pat. SPEAKER_04

Alright, we are back on Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. I am Johnny Rizzo. I'm with Irish Pat. Hey everybody. And we are in the studio here in Colmac, New York. We are in the Riding Council studio, Pat.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we are.

SPEAKER_04

The new name we're naming this, the Riding Council Studio, which uh I wish was coming in tonight, but he's not coming in tonight.

SPEAKER_02

Is he still in Italy?

SPEAKER_04

No, he's back home.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he's back home?

SPEAKER_04

I'm so jealous, man. You know what I'm so jealous about? I got a friend, okay? He's in one of these bands that we that we deal with. And we went to Italy. Me and Don went to Italy three weeks. I'd never talk about it, I know. No, never. I've never heard you discuss it. No, we never talk about it. We try to keep it private. You know what I mean? I've seen it. So we we go to Italy and I'm posting it. My friend's commenting on it. Like, oh, that sounds great. So he goes to Italy. Like a month or two after we went to Italy.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Do you know he went to Italy? He came back and said, you know what? They're selling everything and they're moving there. That's the way to do it, Pat. That's living. That's living, man. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, the fact he was able to get a job that transferred out there.

SPEAKER_04

Well, he was he's retired.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well, that's gotta be nice.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. I mean, to be able to move to Italy, I would move there on the heartbeat. The United States, well, I'm American, I love America, but Italy, man, is amazing. Speaking about Italy, since you brought it up. Did you see the the post I made about the little Italian place that I found in Farmingdale?

SPEAKER_02

I did not.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. There's a small Italian place. I'm not gonna say the name of it yet. Small Italian place in Farmingdale that I heard about. I saw some videos here and there. Somebody who works near the place said, Hey, you gotta check this place out. So I went to have my camera. It is an amazing Italian store that is no name on the building. Only thing outside is an Italian flag. You walk in like you're walking into a warehouse, like you know, just it looks industrial, you know? Right. You walk into this store, like you just walked into Italy, okay? The cheese, the salam, everything you want is in this store, everything imported from Italy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh nice.

SPEAKER_04

Okay? Now it gets better. So I'm walking around my camera, I go around the back, I see this guy back there. He's making their own mozzarella cheese. The big mozzarella balls, he's making it bum, bum, bum, bum, bump. I'm in heaven. Let's take it a step further. Even better. Okay?

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Even better. I walk through this other door, they have a pizzeria. I never knew about this pizzeria. It's been there I don't know how long. But their pizza, I'll say the name of the pizza right now, Dams, pizza and pasta. Okay. Their pizza, everything is important from Italy. Their sauce, their tomatoes, their cheese, their their pie, everything, their flour, everything. Nothing comes from here. Everything comes from Italy. And they and they made me a pie. That's like a personal pie. Right. Because that's how big the pizzas are in Italy. Like, you don't get like we get here. Right. Oh my god. Dude, I gotta tell you, it was amazing stuff. So you gotta check this place out. And I'm not gonna tell you the name. Should I tell the name? I mean I I would hold off on that. You would hold hold on. I would hold off. I am getting complaints on Facebook. People are complaining to me. What about saying, stop giving away our little secret? Because someone even said Wayne said Leffitz, right?

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

He says you shouldn't tell anybody about the place because all the mom and dad, the pops, go there for their local uh right off the boat, Italian stuff. Nothing preserved. Everything right off the boat from Italy to there. You know what I'm saying? And I I feel bad, but you know what? When I told the people what I was doing, I'm making a video, they were so happy. I said, you know, I I saw I told them about Motors Like a May I am, but I said, but I do another thing with my girlfriend called Bella and Johnny's Adventures. It's something fun that me and Dorn made up, man. Right. Wherever we go, we make videos. This is fun. You know what I mean? We we went to Italy, we thought we were world travelers after that. You know what I mean? And we're not, but you know what? We have we have a good time uh you know trying to be a world a world traveler. But um, I'm gonna say it's Sapori is the name of it. Sapori Del Vallo. Sapori Del Vallo is the name of the place. In Farmendale, it's incredible. I I'm I'm urging you to check it out because we fell I fell in love with this place. And I want you know what? I bought pizza home for doing. But she forgot to eat it. So guess what?

SPEAKER_02

Her loss was your gain. I ate it. There you go.

SPEAKER_04

So anyway, going from there, uh not a lot of motorcycle stuff going on this weekend, right?

SPEAKER_02

So unfortunately, like I said, with the weather, it's just tough because Yeah, it's hard. Yeah, because like I said, I mean, like we were saying before, you get caught in the rain, that's one thing. You gotta deal with that. Right. Will I don't know how too many people are gonna look at, see it's raining, and willingly go into the weather. No. You know, and I'm not fun.

SPEAKER_04

It's not a good time when you gotta ride in the rain.

SPEAKER_02

You know, and that's why it's like that's why Chris and Josephine worked so hard on the book because those these dates fill up so quickly. That's why a lot of these events have to be rain or shine. Right, yeah. Because you try to get a rain date, well, where are you gonna fit it in? Well, I know that's the that's the big thing.

SPEAKER_04

And being part of uh Bella and Dawn.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Rock and the Roll, I understand that because she had that major motorcycle run, which this year's October 4th, right? Right. Um Rock and Roll for a Cure, uh motorcycle run for breast cancer.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

How many bikes did you say we had last year?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I haven't hundreds. Definitely hundreds.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, definitely hundreds. Someone said fourteen hundred.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Yeah, I want to know who's counting that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

How do you determine fourteen hundreds?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know, but all I know is I walked out.

SPEAKER_02

It was a lot. I get definitely.

Why Bike Nights Get Canceled

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I looked to my left and I saw bikes going and going and going and going and going. It was incredible. But that it's a c it's an incredible feeling when you're doing a run like that, though, and you're in the front and you look in the mirror, and all you see is lights. That's all you see. Then you go around like the lighthouse or whatever, you come out and you're passing all the bikes that are going there, and you're like, wow. So now you get an idea how many bikes are there really in this thing, you know. But it's so hard, and like I was saying before, Patty, before I'm on break, that one of the reasons why I stopped doing the bike nights is because the pressure was so bad with the weather. Because it would drive you crazy. You know, you'd wake up in the morning, you look at the weather, beautiful day. Then around two o'clock in the afternoon, I get the call from Wayne. What are we doing about bike night tonight? What do we mean? What are we doing? It's supposed to rain. 75% chance of what? You look at the weather and you see 75% chance of rain. So now what are we gonna do? Do you can't have a bike night when there's a threat of rain coming? Because now you're gonna be asking people to ride in the rain, you're asking the ban to set up, all this is outside.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and all the vendors.

SPEAKER_04

And all the vendors, somebody like Key and Theresa, it takes two hours for them to set up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, love jewelry. Right, Keys Love Jewelry. Keys love jewelry. Yeah, it's I mean, uh, and their setup is great. When you go to an event, you're set up. Usually great. And then that's the thing. It takes, you figure if it takes somebody like an hour, just an hour, say an hour to set up, all of a sudden, if it's all of a sudden if you have to cancel it midway through, now it's gonna take them an hour to break down.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_04

And it's gonna be an hour in the rain. Who wants to do that? Nobody wants to do that. And whoever that what they might be selling, getting wet and not fun. So, you know what? I would have to make the call saying, all right, we gotta cancel bike night. But the problem with this is it might be raining here, but not where you are. Right. So you're looking outside saying, Hey, it's beautiful outside. What are you canceling it for? But I'm looking at the weather thing and saying where the bike night is, it's gonna be pouring. But then what happens is almost every time, the minute you cancel the bike night, the weather gets beautiful. And all that goes away every time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you already know how I felt about that. It's like a lot of people, if you ended up having a nice day, nobody stopped you from getting on your bike, getting a couple of friends together, just going there having a restaurant and making a night out of it.

SPEAKER_04

Right, you can make a night out of it. I mean, we've actually had an awesome bike night that was cancelled.

SPEAKER_02

And we did it.

SPEAKER_03

We ended up having to go to Oh God, yeah, we're at a TJ Fridays. We just started uh talking, shooting, uh shooting the blankety blinks, and then we just went in and got something to eat. We had a blast.

SPEAKER_04

It's great. Sometimes the most the things that are not planned are the best way.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Right? So that was my problem with doing the bike nights were my biggest problem. You know what I mean? So I was getting I was getting really sick of setting up a bike night and then getting away.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it makes babies even worse. What about the what about the one time where it was beautiful weather, we had the bike night, everybody showed up, everything could set up, and like 20 minutes later, all of a sudden we looked over and we just saw this big black cloud up on the noise.

SPEAKER_04

It's a horrible thing. It's it's a horrible thing. And then they're they're looking at you because when you cancel it, you can't win in this situation. You don't cancel it, you're a D. You cancel it, you're a D. So it's hard to, it's really hard to do that.

SPEAKER_02

Because you're and because it's your name on the event.

Sponsor Break

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_04

Alright, we are back live. No, we're not live, I'm lying. We're live-ish. On Motorcycle Man Radio, I'm Johnny Rizzo. I am with Irish Pat. And this is Motorcycle Mayan Radio. So yeah, so like I was saying before, Pat, it's so hard to plan these things sometimes. Right. You know what I mean? And when we used to have these bite nights, man, we had some really cool stuff. We had the axe drawing, right? We had a comedian, right?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we had we had so much stuff going on. We had a lot of stuff. I just always I always questioned the the axe drawing, and I'll tell you why. Why? I just love because we always had it like at a TGI Fridays or just someplace that was serving alcohol. Yes. Now you tell, now explain to me. Alcohol and axe drawing. What could possibly go wrong there?

SPEAKER_04

You never know. Well, it's funny you say that. There's a bar, there was a bar. Yeah. Called the Baja in New High Park back in the day.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I used to play hardball and the team used to get together, go to the Baja, and had batting cages. The Baja was a bar. All right? In the front there was a bar, in the bat they had batting cages. That balls that they were throwing at you up to 80, 90 miles an hour. That's the way it was. And they had golf, like the big screens where you hit the golf balls into.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So that's a good idea. You're hanging out in a bar with baseball bats and golf clubs. That was interesting, I tell you that much. So yeah, the bar ha. That place was great, man. Gone. Everything's gone. We're getting older.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, old, yeah, old ish.

SPEAKER_04

Oldish.

SPEAKER_02

Old ish.

A 1991 Band Signs Late

SPEAKER_04

We are. I got my um this is so funny. I mean, I think this is hilarious. But my my band arrival from 1991.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

1991. Got signed to a record contract in 2026. Okay? So now we had to all meet at the diner to sign to sign the contract. So then if you go to the website, uh DN DNA records, right? Is that what it is? DNA Records, right? Um F I'm sorry, FNA Records. There you go, yes, dot net, and you look for a last roll of the dice from a band called Arrival, that was us. You'll see a guy, like a cartoon guy, throwing dice on the floor, and that's our album, and it was a great album. We had 12 songs plus a bonus track, right? And uh I look on the website one day and I'm like, what is this? You can buy the album, you can buy the autographed album. Autographed album, you can buy the t-shirts, right? Small, medium, large, extra large, double X, triple X, 4X, 5X. I was like, oh my god, I don't I don't remember any of this, but alright. So now we got a call saying that we have to sign CDs because we actually have people out there that bought them. And we gotta meet Wednesday night at a diner with about 50 CDs, we gotta sign all of them. Because there's people that actually bought this CD. And I'm not talking about my mother, that's one, but you know. But it's funny. It's like, how'd this happen? If I get a steak dinner out of this, that's all I want.

SPEAKER_02

I know that's keeping the standards low.

SPEAKER_04

Just a steak dinner, you know. Hey, you never know. We sold over 300 copies, I think, so far. Oh congrats. We can sell 300, we're not 3,000.

SPEAKER_02

Nothing wrong with thinking that way.

SPEAKER_04

You never know. I mean, that there's a market for that. Obviously, people buying it. It ain't your music, Pat, but hey. No, it's just funny. You know, just where'd this come from all of a sudden? Like 36 years later. It's funny how that works. Isn't that great? I mean no, it really is. Hey, it happens. Stuff like that happens, man, you know. But hey, I gotta take it and run with it, though. You gotta run with it.

SPEAKER_02

What happens if the album golds gold?

More Local Spots And Event Timing

SPEAKER_04

Then um, then I'll take that money and I'll be living in Italy, scratching my head saying, how did this happen? Yeah, that's what's gonna happen. But you know what? There's a lot of bands out there that come out, you know. Yeah, a lot of great stuff. So I'll talk about another little restaurant. It's always about food with me. Yeah. In Mineola and Port Washington called Ikida.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yes, you've talked about them.

SPEAKER_04

Japanese restaurant. It's a modern-day Japanese restaurant, right? Ikida, it's so good that me and Dawn went there and we took a film, it's on Bell of and Johnny's Adventures, right? We filmed the food. And they had the you ever have uh, what is that, random um ramen noodles? Ramen noodles, yes. I never only ones I ever had was the ones in the that you put under the hot water.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I know I never had like a professional. And then with garlic sauce. It was so good. So check out that place too, guys. It's uh one's one in Minioland, there's one in uh Port of Washington. So how do I let me see if I can spell that for you real quick? Let me find it. Um, so so much more stuff going on coming up. So we got that event next weekend that I didn't know about. I thought it was this weekend. But it happens to the best of us, Matt.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's the thing. It's like you're gonna have so many events coming up all at once now.

SPEAKER_04

Right, right. So Aikida is uh I-K-E-D-O. Aikido. Aikida or something like that. I'm the worst at this. Anyway, so if you like Japanese food, get on your bike.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, get on your bike since this is a motorcycle show. We gotta make it motorcycle related.

SPEAKER_04

Take a ride over there.

SPEAKER_02

Take a ride. There you go.

BACA And Protecting Kids

SPEAKER_04

You'll love it, yeah. You will absolutely love this place. So, anyway, so next weekend, um, Bak is doing an event. Right. And we had Baku on our Monday night show, and they were great, man.

SPEAKER_02

No, they really are.

SPEAKER_04

And um, to protect the kids, I I saw, I saw, have you seen this video going around on TikTok and stuff about a FedEx driver that killed a seven-year-old girl?

SPEAKER_02

I have not seen that.

SPEAKER_04

It's disgusting. This guy, he went to a house to deliver a package. Then he came back to the house saying he had another package. You gotta come out to the truck and get it. And he took her, killed her in the back of the truck.

unknown

Oh, Jesus.

SPEAKER_04

And then he came back. It's like, but I want to know where's the parents of a seven-year-old.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's yeah, no, you See, this is where Bacher comes in.

SPEAKER_04

You know what I mean? Bacher protects the children, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And it is really important what they do because a kid, a kid can be really scared of any situation. So you get an adult threatening them, just they're not gonna say nothing. But you get Bacher involved, yeah, as an adult, you see these bikes coming out, you think twice.

SPEAKER_02

Especially when it's like three, four, ten. All of a sudden it's but it becomes a different animal.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Exactly. So, you know, good God bless Backer, man, what they do, they do a great job.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, they do.

SPEAKER_04

And uh I'm proud to know them. They were on the show on Monday night that we had. You can check check that out on Facebook and YouTube, and see what those guys are all about, and you even join if you want. Go to a couple of meetings and become a backer. That's it. I'm a backer.

SPEAKER_02

Definitely worth definitely worth taking the time out to look up.

Boogie For The Boobies Details

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely. So so speaking about events, we got Boogie for the Boobies coming up at.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, looking forward to that.

SPEAKER_04

Boogie for the Boobies is gonna be on May 3rd, okay? At uh it's called Boogie for the Boobies Women Who Rock. It's not a motorcycle event, it's a music event, okay? With all girl bands playing all day long. Which is awesome because they got a lot of great bands out there. So they got paper dolls come playing. Uh, we got Jet Black, which you can imagine with band that way being. Uh Sister of a Down. Is that a Sister of a Down?

SPEAKER_02

Go, yeah, go out on a lemon and figure that one out.

SPEAKER_04

Mistress of Evil.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, one of our favorites for some odd reason.

SPEAKER_04

And one of your favorite, Red Hot.

SPEAKER_02

I love Red Hot. Absolutely love Red Hot.

SPEAKER_04

And Jealous Dogs, they're playing. It's gonna be at Whiskey Rocks. Um, did you really address in that place?

SPEAKER_02

Um I could look at if I'd done that would'll look good. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

East Great Neck Road and West Babylon. Uh check it out. It's gonna be a great day.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Only$10 at the door. All the money proceeds goes to Rock and Ruff Road Cure for breast cancer, which is awesome. Great job there. They got some uh great sponsors going on. The Roddy Council is a sponsor of that. The Hog Shop is a sponsor of that, too.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's cool.

SPEAKER_04

Awesome stuff. Uh we got uh Extreme Auto Body, we got Armed Woman America, that's pretty cool. Right? You don't have to mess with them. ToughTales, who ToughTales is having an event uh next weekend, I believe. Also. Tough Tales for the pets, for the dogs and the cats. So they're having that going on as well. Milwaukee Leather.

SPEAKER_02

We love Milwaukee Leather.

SPEAKER_04

He's a sponsor, yep. And uh the defensive dames is also a sponsor. So we got a lot of great stuff going on this day. Um, food, all the posts you got, all the food at the bar. Those proceeds go to rocking the road. Um the bands all day long starts at one to eight. So if I was you, I'd go to the uh pig roast first. The pig roast over at um Alliance.

SPEAKER_02

Alliance. Yeah, the Alliance, they're having the pig roast that day as well.

SPEAKER_04

And that's in Amityville.

SPEAKER_02

That's in Amineville.

SPEAKER_04

So the Alliance is having their pig roast, so go to the pig roast, and then afterwards stop by uh, you know, stop by us and have a couple of drinks or whatever, some food, listen to some music, and enjoy yourself.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe then come to support the cause. That's the big thing.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. So we'll be right back in a minute. So check it out, guys. I am Johnny Rizani with I was Pat. Check out Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. We are everywhere. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, iHeart, Google, Spotify, the OBBM Network. We're on the bike and hangout across the pond, Pat.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. This Sunday is our uh is our motorcycle awareness uh safety run. It's like it starts at the H. Lee Dinnison building at 9 a.m. is registration. Um kickstands go up at 12 o'clock. It will be an escorted ride. Um there will be guest speakers uh there. It's um$20 per ride.

SPEAKER_04

I wasn't axed to be a guest speaker.

SPEAKER_02

I you know, you need to talk to Chris. Wait a minute. He usually sits a course for me. You can always ask him about it.

SPEAKER_04

I'll wait for you to say, well, what the hell are you gonna say?

SPEAKER_02

Let's eat. That's what I'm saying. You know, for you that would be a good speech. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, there's a corner truck over there.

SPEAKER_04

After Chris is done doing the whole big thing, and now um Johnny was if almost like a man, we'd like to say a few words. I get up there. Let's eat! There you go.

SPEAKER_02

And Johnny kept his word. He said very few words. Go ahead, Pat. So anyway, so it's$20 a rider,$10 a passenger, and if you just walk it up the you know to support the event, it's fifth it's uh$15. So by the way, if any of if anybody's out there who wants to volunteer, just contact Chris Beckins at$88-542-2283 or email at Chris Libate at gmail.com.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

So, I mean, the uh the blessing of the bikes but you bike blessed the second you come into the uh Who's doing that?

SPEAKER_04

Patchel ski?

SPEAKER_02

Um, I don't know. I think it's uh being supported by uh fire department out there. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

So now I got I hate to be in the bear of bad news. Sixty-five percent chance of rain so far. I know. That's what I'm talking about. You know, it's just a hard thing. You know, it's just a hard thing to do.

SPEAKER_02

It says rushing for rushing wind bikes requires, so I guess it says Pastor Skate. Pastor Sky, oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So Pastor Sky, who also he does a show from the studio as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So I know it's again, it's tough. I remember the one year. And it is supposed to be like calling a quote unquote rain or shine event. But then it was one year, it poured. Right. Like we had to, you know, there was no choice to cancel because like again, we're supposed to be promoting awareness. We're supposed to be promoting safety. Right. And it's I mean, it's not like it's a couple of little drips, it is a downpour. Yeah. So I mean, I know it's like almost it's like the second week in the row, you're gonna have the threat of rain. Yeah, you just hope like maybe something something between now and then. Right, right, right. Uh it means we had to we found a makeup date. It didn't make a lot of the women happy because it was on Mother's Day.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah. That's what happens, yep.

SPEAKER_02

But it's but yeah, but we had no choice because it was the only date date available.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, what are you gonna do because the moms have to understand? And I share my birthday with Mother's Day a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, well, the thing is with the mom, it's I mean, most of the moms in the community get it. You know, in a lot of ways we are so you know, they come out and we can support them that day too as well. It's just it's just so hard. Yeah. Because it's you know, it's like you try to get a reindeer. Like I said, we also pass out the our our handbooks, okay. Which will have the list, the list of uh events locally and nationally. Right. So it's like if you want to sit there, check out what Sturgis is, it'll give you the dates, or if you just want to sit there and see what's going on on Long Island.

SPEAKER_04

Well, that's what's good about it. You have all the events in there. So, you know, you take the book and it's like, all right, let's do this, let's do that, let's do this, let's do that, and it's done.

SPEAKER_02

And it's got all our sponsors in there, which sometimes, you know, you go there, they'll give you a discount if you mention Long Island Abate. There you go. So and it just shows you who supports the community.

SPEAKER_04

If you mention motorcycle mammader, they'll charge you more.

SPEAKER_02

See how it works?

SPEAKER_04

That's how it's working.

SPEAKER_02

No, and actually, no, that's it. You're only half right. If you say motorcycle mahem radio, you may get a discount on something. You might. If you mention Johnny Rizzle, then might be that. But um, but that will have a listing of dates. So and then after that, it will it we will have it at every event. You'll know what's going on. And you know, right now it's still fingers crossed because it's not only our event, we can backer that weekend too. That's true. Uh Wild Child Tattoo.

SPEAKER_04

And I believe it's the um Tough Tales too.

SPEAKER_02

I believe it's so it's like you just gotta keep your fingers crossed. That's that's all you could do.

Health Reset Coffee And Recovery

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's all you can do. But so I'm drinking my tea tonight, Pat, because I went to the doctor yesterday. The doctor's like, listen, um, you have to stop drinking coffee. You gotta calm down. And if you ever notice me, I'm drinking my beak up here. Oh, yeah. A lot of people think that's soda. No, that's black coffee. I drink about four of those a day.

SPEAKER_02

You put ice in that, or yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

But still. Still black coffee. That's a lot of coffee. 40 ounces each one. So my doctor's like, you drink how much? You gotta stop. You gotta chill out with the coffee. No alcohol. That won't last. I'm saving it. I'll pick and choosing what I'm drinking now. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

You know, it's hard for me to say anything because, like I said, everyone knows my history. And it is what it is, you know, it is what it is. Like a 28 years clean to sober. I'm an alcoholic in recovery. Um, I I I want to I would say something only because I care about the person. Right. That's it. I would sit there and say to you, like if the doctor's sitting there saying take it easy, I would say, please take it easy because we want you around. Right. Yeah, but I'm I can't, I'm not gonna sit and tell someone what you know what they can and cannot do. Right. It's just not it's one, it's not in my nature. Two, one thing I know about the disease, and I know it and I learned it through the hardship way, is when people tell you what to do, you dig you tend to dig the heels in even more. Right, true, which is the problem. It's like half the bat half the battle's always sitting there going, you know what, there's there's an issue here. You know, and that's what it, you know, it it took Yeah, I can't I can't just drink one beer.

SPEAKER_04

You don't drink only either none or twenty.

SPEAKER_02

Um there's a song, uh song in uh on Ozzy Osborne's album, No Rest for the Wicked, which is a great album. Right. It's called Demon Alcohol. And there's one line that used to describe how I would drink perfectly, and it's uh one is way too much and ten is not enough. Right. I it's like the drinking was never a problem. Stopping was the problem.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, right, you're right. So I gotta chill now with um, you know, a certain caffeine, food. You know, I had an episode that I I didn't realize I had. They told me I had one because they have this machine in me here. Right. So I did feel something weird last month. Okay. Uh doing I I I couldn't see straight. I was like, what's going on, man? I was like, what's going on? I have a stroke. But I found out that's what happened. So I gotta just be good. I gotta be a good boy. Start eating right. I gotta burger tonight, though. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

You gotta pick and choose. Like I said, I just got done with my doctors too, and so far, so good.

SPEAKER_04

Who's my doctor? You know my doctor's doctor Vinny Boombots.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. But so far, it's like I I'm I I got uh pretty much a good bill of health, rel relatively healthy, as I said, so I will take that. You know, a couple of pounds I would like to drop, but also it's just it's hard for me. Here's the thing, I remember it being hard for my frame. I looked it up one time when I was, you know, we're talking now about 10-15 years ago. And I was my weight was like between 168 and 172. Oh was the average. I mean, I was working out like five, six days a week and the whole thing. Um, work and life got in the way with Schulz and I was no longer going five to six days, it became four, it became three, it became two. And uh I just couldn't stick with it. It was just I couldn't justify the money for going to the gym anymore. Right, there you go. I just couldn't. And uh you know, so you know, so I was I would look at the what they call the scale, which is what your frame tells you. If and it's said to be at 5'7. I'm 5'7, I'm supposed to be like 141 pounds.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I know. I had the same thing.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not five. If you look at me, it's like there is no, I mean, I would say honestly, if I'm overweight, it's probably like about realistically, it's probably about 15 pounds.

SPEAKER_02

15, 20 pounds realistically. Well, uh, what do you know? Um, I'm 235. Two what? 235.

SPEAKER_04

235? Yeah. I'm 272. So eighty.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, but but the thing is, like, I'm so I mean, my thing is like I'm so broad-shouldered.

SPEAKER_02

It's like, it's like I used I call it like my upper body is uh six foot two and my lower body's two foot six.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

You know, that did I guess so all good though, Pat.

SPEAKER_04

Well, you know what? You just gotta start thinking a little healthier and uh get ourselves into shape.

SPEAKER_02

So it wasn't saying that round is shape.

Rock And Roll For A Cure Plug

Closing And Outro Music

SPEAKER_04

There you go. So that's why I'll make a quick mention of Rock and Roll for a cure, which is my girlfriend uh doing a three-time breast cancer survivor. Just go to her website, rock and roll for cure.org, make a donation. She does some wonderful stuff with that money, man. She uh she's out there every other weekend delivering food to her patients that um she's not gonna cure, not looking to cure breast cancer, looking to help someone who has it. So check her out, check out Rock and Roll for Cure. Everything she does, all her proceeds goes to that cause. Everything she does, man. She's no skipping corners with her. No. But um also check out Motorcycle Man Radio. Uh, we're live on Monday nights on Facebook and YouTube and uh 103.9 F. On Wednesdays on Rock Race Radio on the biking hangout all over Instagram and all that stuff. So thanks for watching and listening tonight. We'll catch you next week. I am Johnny Rives Pat. Good night, everybody. Good night, everyone.
